Train Tag.
I was done with my Sun Training before Noon. It was raining like crazy I thought that I need to run or take a cab. I ran to the Chicago Union Station and found I was early..way early for the 12:30 train to Big Timber.. I made sure what platform it was leaving " Platform 5" I now know I read it right but all in my mind I took for granted that the train leaves from Platform 9. I put my Shure isolator ear phones on.. went out on the platform way before the train arrived... I got on the fucking wrong train.. Cant hear shit about all the announcements made before the train took off and for the next 10 stops... Now its getting close to 1:20pm and I am thinking where the hell is Wooddale, Itasca, Roselle... but I was going in the wrong direction ... I was heading to fox fucking lake .... I was pissed ... I got off waited in the freaking rain got back to union station at 2:18 and ran to Platform 9 heading out to Hanover Park.. Made it home at 4:00 PM. Thats my eventful day....
BTW I got certificate of Completion of Training " Sun Server MX000 server administration" At least I did one thing right !!!!!!

The Ellis Flood
ok so what a day at work today.....i thought i was never gonna get out of there.....we actually got flooded in.
Ellis Ave was flooded and the whole crew was trapped at Helix. So 3 of the smarty pants decided at 4pm they are tired of waiting for the water to go down so they will venture off and try to find a way out of Ellis.
Now I have to remind you that on one side we could see all the water...and the water level was so high that it was a semi-truck's bumper was under water when they went through....so there was no way a car was going through. Now the other side of Ellis-our UPS driver told us not to even try going there--it was impossible.
Anyhow those three left two went in one direction on Ellis and the other Einstien went the other direction. 1/2 hour goes by and I was like....let me see if anyone is passing the water yet. What happens? Those 3 that left @4 are still trying to find a way out on Ellis.
Me, Ron, and Joe are like watever, we will stay back a little while later and the water level should go back down.
Then we get a call from Mark (one of the three that left early). He said taht someone has taken down a fence and they are putting wood down so cars can go over it and come out of Ellis.
The 3 of us were still a little hesitant about this bridge that someone made. So we lock up the building and take a walk to the bridge. We get over there and the cars seems to be going fine. Finally have a positive feeling that we are gonna get out of there. All of the sudden a Jaguar comes. Somehow the wood under the car moves and the Jaguar is stuck. Oh man...did that mess up his car probably. So the back the car up and finally get it unjammed!
Now me, ron, and joe are like....hell NO we arent messing our cars up!
So we walk back to Helix and we are standing at the corner like everyone else watching the water levels and teh trucks in the water! Some guys comes up to us and says "if you guys want to leave we have build a bridge" So we told the guy yea we saw that and we saw the Jaguar. So he was like no we put a rock underneath and fixed it....it should not happen again.
So Joe asks--do you guys wanna try....I said only if they do. So we made Joe go first!
Finally all 3 of us are free!
Poor us had nothing to eat all day long because of the Ellis Flood.
